Signal-Park will direct motorists to the nearest available parking spaces by the shortest route and inform motorists and management of the occupancy status throughout the parking facility.  This is accomplished through the use of detectors, signage, and software in a manner unique to Signal-Park.  No other system can do exactly what Signal-Park does.
Detectors
An ultrasonic detector, equipped with LED pilot lights, is installed via hardwire busway above each parking space.  The detectors constantly (two to three times per second) check for the presence of a vehicle and immediately indicate the presence of a vehicle by changing the color of its LED pilot lights from GREEN to RED.

The detector’s observations are communicated to a central computer via RS232 data cables.  The computer processes the information and updates strategically placed signs to inform motorist of the occupancy status of the level or entire parking facility.
Signage
Directional LED signs, comprised of combinations of directional arrows and numerals, are employed to direct motorist to the first available vacant parking space.  The signs are constantly updated to provide accurate and reliable information. Signal-Park uses space detectors placed along with each sign to account for cars traveling to and from parking spaces.  This counting method provides the most comprehensive parking status system available.

Reader boards placed on the roadway leading to the parking facility will display the availability of parking spaces on each level of the garage.
Software
Signal-Park software operates on a Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system.  It assigns a unique address to each detector and monitors the status of its corresponding parking space 2 to 3 times per second.  The result is real-time status data that is communicated to motorist though signage and may be monitored by management.  The parking status information is compiled into a database which is the source of custom operations settings and a variety of management reports.

Signal-Park software can be customized to set and change conditions that automatically control the availability of reserved parking in specified zones for specified times and dates. Signal-Park software is compatible with a myriad of parking control apparatus including access and revenue control systems via TCP/IP open commutations protocol.
